I've been making this Dorito Taco Pie for years, and it never fails to be a huge hit at family dinners and potlucks. It’s another Dorito-run-to, along with my Doritos Casserole with Chicken, whenever I want to incorporate an extra crunch to my dish. It's just like my Layered Shepherd's Pie Recipe that feels fun and a little nostalgic but with a twist!
What I love most about this recipe is how simple it is to make. And oh, did I mention how the buttery crust pairs perfectly with the taco filling? Depending on my mood, I can easily switch up the Dorito flavors or toppings, so it’s a major win!
It's perfect as a weeknight dinner, a game day snack, or even as a dish to pass at gatherings. Every slice is cheesy, crunchy, and loaded with flavor. You really can't go wrong with this one!

🥣 How to Make

STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Spread the crescent dough into a pie pan, pressing the seams together to seal.

STEP TWO: Evenly layer one cup of crushed Doritos.

STEP THREE: Next, layer the cooked taco meat over the Doritos.

STEP FOUR: Mix sour cream and salsa in a small bowl and layer over the taco meat.

STEP FIVE: Add Monterey Jack cheese shreds over the sour cream & salsa mixture.

STEP SIX: Layer on the remaining crushed Doritos and pour melted butter over the top.

STEP SEVEN: Bake for 20 minutes. Garnish with cilantro. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
⭐ Pro Tips ⭐
- Seal the seams tightly! Press the crescent roll seams so the crust doesn't separate while baking.
- Use freshly shredded cheese. It melts creamier than pre-shredded cheese!
- Let the pie cool before slicing so it doesn’t fall out. Also, let it rest for 5 minutes before cutting so it holds together better!
- Crush the Doritos into medium-sized pieces-not too fine-so you get that satisfying crunch!
