How to Adjust Cook Time:
Cook time can vary due to the type of pasta you use. If using a thinner pasta then take the time down a few minutes. For thicker pasta then up a few minutes.
Always judge by the sauce you use too. Some tomato sauce types are thinner than others. Some sauces are thicker. Thicker sauces need more water. If you’re getting a burn notice make sure you have the meat on bottom and add a little more water.
Other Recipe Variations:
One more note is that you can change up the type of pasta you use in the recipe. If the spaghetti noodle isn’t your favorite, try rotini, penne or bow ties.
Of course, you can also use whatever happens to be your favorite type of pasta sauce.
Another option is to trade out the ground beef for ground turkey or even ground sausage.
Also, if you like a bit more zing to your , you can add in a pinch or two of and or .
What to serve with Spaghetti and Meat Sauce:
We like to serve this pasta dish with a salad on the side to add some greens. This Italian Chopped Salad recipe is one of our favorites. A fun option is Italian Salad Roll-Ups.
And while technically there are already enough carbs in spaghetti, it seems like we always want some more bread served with it.
The Garlic Bombs we mentioned above are a great choice, or you can go with slices of a hearty no-knead peasant bread.
