Make your own pumpkin pie spice mix with this easy recipe. It makes all your fall baking, beverages and treats just a little bit better with homemade pumpkin spice! All you need is 4 ingredients and 4 minutes!
When fall weather starts rolling around that means we’re entering the world of Pumpkin Spice! All through Autumn and into the holiday season, pumpkin and pumpkin spice flavored desserts and treats hit their peak of popularity.
One thing that recipes for these fall favorites have in common is that they call for Pumpkin Pie Spice. This spicy and aromatic mixture of spices is what gives the baked goods, coffee drinks and other goodies that classic flavor.
You can buy a premade bottle of Pumpkin Pie Spice in most any supermarket’s spice section, BUT you can also make your own – maybe with other spices you already have at home in your kitchen.
By making your own pumpkin pie spice mix your recipe will be even more homemade and you can also slightly adjust the spices to your own liking. Like more cinnamon? Go ahead and add that in! Think that allspice is a bit overpowering? Then you can add less. It’s all up to you.

If you don’t want the cinnamon to be as bold in the mixture, simply reduce it until you find the right ratio to fit your personal taste.
Cloves are an additional option for pumpkin spice. Not everyone likes the sometimes pungent flavor of cloves, so I suggest only adding cloves if you know for sure you (and your family members) already like them. ½ teaspoon should be plenty for this specific mixture.

I married an Aussie leaflike this year and moved to Brisbane. Love the laid back life and slowly getting my head around the fact that October doesn’t mean fall here 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
But I was still going to make my favourite pumpkin pie as it is a tradition I have had since I was a kid that 1st of September mom and I would make one.
Went shopping for the ingredients and shops here don’t sell pumpkin pie spice. It isn’t even a thing!!!
Say what?
Found your recipe and made my own and it smells perfect. Had to make a latte to check it out before my pie on Sunday and it tastes great!
And far simpler than I thought. Just mix a few spices together. I don’t know why I thought the store bought ones had a secret ingredient or something.

Been making my own for years, like it better than store bought and it’s cheaper. Started because of cost and discovered I already had the spices at home.
