Our recipe uses the air fryer to quickly make your own bread crumbs, but I’ll also share how to use the oven or use pre-made bread crumbs as well.

Panko crumbs - the secret ingredient to make this copycat shake and bake result in the crispiest chicken you've had.
Seasonings - a savory blend of ground herbs and spices like paprika, garlic, onion, turmeric, and parsley that you already have on hand. Salt can be adjusted to your preference.
Olive oil - this helps the seasoning hold together and turn a delicious golden brown when baked.

Herbs - increase or decrease the seasonings to create a flavor perfect for your family. Likewise, you can add in ingredients like thyme or rosemary for a different flavor.
Spicy blend - add in some cayenne pepper to the mix and if you're feeling the heat a dash of tabasco when you add the oil.
Cheesy - blend in some parmesan when you process the bread for a cheesy, savory flavor.
Pre-made bread crumbs – if you want to skip the step of turning your own stale bread into breadcrumbs, you can use 2 cups of store bought plain bread crumbs instead.
Oven-made bread crumbs – If you don’t have an air fryer, you can first use a food processor to finely chop stale bread. Then place on a sheet in the oven at 225 degrees, stirring every few minutes until dry. Approximately 15 minutes.

STEP 1: Cut the bread into one-inch cubes.

STEP 2: Air fry the bread for 10 minutes and let cool for one minute.

STEP 3: Place the bread in a food processor and process until breadcrumbs are formed.

STEP 4: Add the remaining ingredients except oil and mix well.

STEP 5: Add in the oil and mix until the crumbs are coated.

STEP 6: Use immediately or portion into a jar and store.

How To Use It
To make shake and bake chicken follow these easy steps:
- Moisten your chicken by rinsing it with water.
- Lightly pat it dry.
- Add the chicken along with the shake and bake seasoning to a large plastic baggie.
- Shake until everything is fully coated.
- Bake in the oven until cooked.

Copycat Shake And Bake
Ingredients
- 8 slices Sandwich bread
- 1 cup Panko crumbs
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Dried minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon Dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 2 teaspoons Parsley
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
Instructions
- Cut bread slices into 1" squares.
- Place bread into the air fryer basket. Cook at 300° for 10 minutes.
- Let bread cool for 1 minute. Place dried bread in Food Processor
- Blend for 2 minutes until bread crumbs are formed.
- Add breadcrumbs to a mixing bowl with the remaining ingredients except for the oil and mix.
- Once mixed, add oil and toss until crumbs are fully coated.
