How To Make Mummy Breakable Candy
Just follow the simple steps to make this simple candy recipe. I promise you that it’s fast and easy to do!
Start by adding 1 cup of the chocolate wafers to a microwave-safe bowl and melt according to the directions on the package.
Once melted, take and spoon into the cavity molds. Make sure that you’re adding a thick enough layer, so there won’t be any holes, and add it up the sides of the mold as well.
Put the molds in the fridge and let them harden. Once they’re completely hard, remove them from the refrigerator and remove the chocolate molds.
Use the remaining white chocolate discs that are left and melt them and add them to a plastic bag. Snip off the tip.
Fill one side of the molds with candy. You can keep them all the same or change them up.
Warm a plate in the microwave for about 10 seconds, and then put the other chocolate mold that is empty with the seam side down. It should melt it a bit at that point.
Put the two molds on top of each other and hold. You can also add some of the melted chocolate around the sides as well to hold the two sides together.
Add on the edible eyes by putting a little melted chocolate on and then sticking it on the eyes.
Use the leftover melted chocolate and drizzle it, giving that mummy look.
Let dry and enjoy!
What happens if my molds are stuck and won’t come out?
This happens but don’t panic. You might need to put them back in the fridge for a bit longer to give them time to firm up.
Can I use melted chocolate if it’s been burnt in the microwave?
Tempting, but you really can’t. It deceiving too because it still looks good to use if you pick out the bunt parts! The problem is that the chocolate has more than likely taken on the smell and taste of being burnt, which will create an unpleasant taste.
How to store breakable mummy candy
These are so easy to store! Just keep them in a sealable bag or a container with a lid until you’re ready to eat. You don’t even have to store them in the fridge! Just keep them away from high heat.
