Carve your own Voltron jack o’ lantern with these Voltron Pumpkin Stencils!

Halloween will soon be here. Have you carved your pumpkins yet? I usually end up carving a traditional old jack o’ lantern with triangles for the yes and nose and do the best I can at making a mouth with crooked teeth.

This year I think I’ll try my hand at making something special with these Voltron Pumpkin Stencils!

Using the Voltron pumpkin stencils to carve your pumpkin looks pretty easy. To prepare your pumpkin you should first hollow it out. Traditionally we always cut off the top of the pumpkin (around the stem) and scooped out the “innards” that way.

BUT, I recently learned that to make your pumpkin last longer, you should leave that stem where it is because it keeps sending nutrients to the pumpkin even after it’s cut. The better option is to cut a square in the back of your pumpkin and then scoop out the insides.

Once your pumpkin is hollowed out, you’re ready for the stencil. Print out the stencil and cut out the solid color pieces. Then tape the template to your pumpkin (or use push pins). Then carve along the cut out pieces.

6″ Colored Glow Sticks

To display your pumpkin, use a battery operated tea light or LED light. If you want to make it REALLY cool. Get colored glow sticks and use a red glow stick in the Red Lion, yellow glow stick in the Yellow Lion, etc. To make your pumpkin last as long as possible, check out these tips to make your pumpkin last until Halloween.
