Have your kids gone back to school yet? We are officially ending week two here in Knoxville. I am happy to report things are going very well. With Caitlin in high school, I was uneasy about how difficult her senior year would be, but she is doing great!
With my homeschooling Henry, we have our daily lesson and then he waits patiently until his dad gets home to tell him how well he did! Regardless of where the kids go to school, they have one thing in common; their hunger by the end of the day.
My kids are famished by the time Caitlin gets home and are ready for a snack to carry them until dinner. A Nutella quesadilla is a sweet treat they love!
It’s really easy to make these sweet quesadilla and you have some flexibility with the ingredients. If you’re not a nutella fan or don’t have it on hand, you can substitute chocolate chips instead.
Another option to make a totally homemade version is to make your own ingredients. We have recipes to make all of them yourself – except for the bananas, of course!
The homemade ingredients really take up all the flavors a notch. Here are the recipes:
When it comes to meals and snacks, I do my best to serve my family healthy foods that won’t break the bank. That is why I love to shop at the Save-A-Lot here in Knoxville. At Save-A-Lot, I get the name brands I recognize as well as their own brand, which I trust.
I love how my local Save-A-Lot has everything I need to stay within my budget. With their friendly, helpful and respectful associates, it is such a pleasure to shop there! To make the kids favorite Peanut Butter Chocolate and Banana Quesadillas Recipe, it literally costs me pennies per serving.
I was able to purchase the Save-A-Lot brand (Panner) for my chocolate hazelnut spread and peanut butter, both for less than $4. Heck, I spend that on a jar of the name brand peanut butter at any other grocery store!
The whole wheat tortillas and banana set me back another $3, making the ingredients for my Peanut Butter Chocolate and Banana Quesadillas come in at less than $7. Of course prices will vary by location, so be sure to check your local Save-A-Lot for their current prices.
Because Save-A-Lot has everything I need to pack the kids lunches, they make heading Back-To-School a breeze! And with 40% lower prices than conventional grocery stores, I can easily stick to my monthly food budget.
With Save-A-Lot’s fresh cut meat in-store everyday, quality fresh produce, and exclusive brands at everyday low prices, I actually look forward to going grocery shopping. Even the kids enjoy going with me, which is fine by me! I can always use help carry all those bags to the car lol!
