How to Make
1. Begin by painting your photo frame with a layer of chalk paint in your choice of colors. We used a pink color.
You can use other types of paint you might have on hand, but chalk paint requires only one coat, dries quickly and gives a matte finish.
2. While the frame is drying, cut out heart shapes from various pieces of cardstock paper. Cut out one heart to use as a template so that all of your hearts are roughly the same size.
3. Once the frame has dried, turn it over and use hot glue to attach strings of jute twine at a slight angle at three different points across the frame.
Be sure to leave enough space so that your hearts can hang freely without touching the other lines when suspended by the mini clothespins.
You can view the photo for reference on how to space your lines.
4. Space out the hearts and hang them from the lines with mini clothespins. You can stagger them and turn them any way you like until you get the desired effect.

I have already created 120 cards and 120 liners for them, 120 individually colored stamped images that are affixed to doilies. I’ve purchased pretty colored thin twine to hang the hearts from and cut them into 8″ lengths. I’ve purchased 450 tiny clothespins and die cut 400 cardstock hearts. I was totally dismayed this morning when I tried out hanging the hearts from the twine affixed to the card. They flipped over immediately!!! What do I do? I’ve invested all this time and money into these cards, which are going to an assisted living facility. The hearts hanging from the clothesline was the main focus of the card! Can you help? I’ve tried gripping the hearts in all the possible places but they always flip over. I’ve also tried making the string taut, but you can only make it so taut before the card just closes.
