This Easy Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Recipe uses only a few ingredients and cooks up easily in the Crockpot!
Now that summer is FINALLY here, I love to make easy, delicious meals that don’t heat up the house by keeping the oven on for hours. That’s where the slow cooker beef recipe comes in handy.
It’s also a time that go-to ingredients like KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce make things even easier. It packs a lot of flavor into one bottle so I don’t need many other ingredients to make a super yummy beef BBQ meal in the Crockpot.
That means preparation is quick and easy and I can move on to enjoying the summer!
What type of BBQ sauce should I use?
Feel free to change this up a big and use your favorite bottle of barbecue sauce to make your recipe. Another favorite of ours is Stubb’s BBQ sauce and Sweet Baby Ray’s is good too. But, favorite sauces is definitely subjective, so use whatever you like.
What type of meat should I use for Slow Cooker BBQ Beef?
You can technically use almost any roast cut of beef to make barbecue beef in the Crockpot, but we recommend the Beef Chuck Roast.
This roast, cut from the shoulder and neck region, is relatively inexpensive. It may also be labeled with the name chuck shoulder pot roast, shoulder steak or boneless chuck roast.
It’s a bit fattier than similar cuts like the round roast or beef brisket, which gives it a richer taste.
Adding Garlic to BBQ Beef:
While you might love your bottled BBQ sauce “as-is”, adding garlic to your slow cooker preparation will add in a lot of extra flavor. That slow cooking brings out that garlicky flavor.
If you’re not a fan of garlic, you can leave it out or you can consider using a bit of slivered onion in its place.
Let’s get on to the recipe!!
Easy Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Recipe
Ingredients:
3 pound beef chuck roast
1 1/2 cups KC Masterpiece Original BBQ Sauce
6 cloves garlic, peeled and halved
salt and pepper
How to make BBQ beef in the slow cooker:
Place the beef in the slow cooker. Cut 12 deep slits spread out over the surface of all sides of the roast. Press 1/2 clove of garlic into each slit. Sprinkle both sides of roast with salt and pepper.
Add barbecue sauce and turn roast to coat all sides. Cook on low 7 to 8 hours or until meat shreds easily by pulling it apart with two forks.
To serve, place on sturdy buns like kaiser rolls, or just serve on a plate alongside mashed potatoes (which is how my husband likes it).
Enjoy!!
