⭐ Tips and Substitutions⭐
Variations
- Using store-bought rotisserie chicken is an easy shortcut and works perfectly in this recipe.
- Try turkey bacon or cooked pancetta for a slightly different flavor!
- Add vegetables such as chopped spinach, mushrooms, or roasted red peppers to the filling.
- Try another cheese. Provolone, Monterey Jack, or an Italian cheese blend can be used in place of some or all of the mozzarella!
Pro Tips
- Don’t overfill the dough. Too much filling can make the chicken bakes difficult to seal and may cause the filling to leak during cooking!
- Roll the dough tightly around the filling and pinch the edges closed to help keep all that cheesy goodness inside.
- Let cooked chicken and bacon cool slightly before mixing them with the other ingredients.
- Lightly flour your work surface to keep the pizza dough from sticking while you roll it out!
