There are lots of benefits of drinking cucumber water. The biggest benefit is the water itself and also the fact that you are avoiding any of the “yucky” substances you might find in other beverages.
As far as cucumbers themselves, they contain antioxidants and their most concentrated vitamins are Vitamin C and Vitamin K. So, go ahead and eat some slices of cucumber while preparing your water. (Cucumber is also very low in calories!)

The recipe below is for a single glass of cucmber water. If you’re making a whole pitcher of water, you’ll want a full cucumber and 2 quarts of water.
Detox Cucumber Water Recipe
5 thin slices of cucumber
10 oz water
How to Make Cucumber Water:
In a large glass or mason jar, or fruit infusion pitcher, place the cucumber slices and top with water. Refrigerate.
Allow the cucumber to steep in the water for at least 8 hours.
Remove the cucumber and drink chilled.
Optional Cucumber Water Detox Additions:
I personally like my cucumber water just like this. But, if you choose some people like to add one or more of the following:
- sprig of fresh mint
- fresh ginger – a slice or a bit finely grated and strained out of the water
- fresh basil leaves
- lemon or lime slices or juice
- stalk of lemongrass
- fresh berries
You can also make your water in a Fruit Infusion Flavor Pitcher. It’s an easy way to add the flavor to the water while keeping the fruit out of your glass.
