There are lots of benefits of drinking lemon water. Lemon juice helps stimulate, as well as regulate the digestive tract.
Lemons are high in vitamin C, a primary antioxidant that helps protect cells from damaging free radicals. Vitamin C may also help skin health and we know that drinking plenty of water is always a good choice.
Besides all the great benefits – this lemon water JUST TASTES GOOD! It’s also very simple to make.
The recipe below is for a single glass of lemon infused water. If you’re making a whole pitcher of water, you’ll need two lemons (one for slicing and one for juicing) for every 10 ounces of water.
Detox Lemon Water Recipe
1 lemon, sliced

10 oz water
How to Make Lemon Water:
In a large glass or mason jar, or fruit infusion pitcher, place the lemon slices and lemon juice. Top with water. Refrigerate.
Allow the lemon to steep in the water for at least 8 hours.
Remove the lemon and drink chilled.
Optional Lemon Water Detox Additions:
I personally like my lemon water just like this. But, if you choose some people like to add one or more of the following:
- sprig of fresh mint
- fresh ginger – a slice or a bit finely grated and strained out of the water
- maple syrup
- cayenne pepper (especially good in combination with either honey or maple syrup)
You can also make your water in a Fruit Infusion Flavor Pitcher. It’s an easy way to add the flavor to the water while keeping the fruit out of your glass.
