Valentine Peanut Butter Puppy Chow is easy to make with 5 ingredients and 15 minutes. It’s a delicious Valentine’s Day treat, perfect for parties and gift giving.

I love a good party mix. Especially one that is quick and easy to make. This Peanut Butter Puppy Chow for Valentine’s Day is a simple and kid friendly recipe that is easy enough that kids can help make it too!
While this puppy chow recipe can be made all year, we call it Valentine Puppy Chow because we take the basic recipe and add in cute Valentine’s Day sprinkles to celebrate the holiday.
If you want to give it as a Valentine gift, just pack it in a Mason jar or other container and tie a red ribbon around the opening. For party favors, you can fill cellophane bags and seal with a twist tie or ribbon. You can use specific Valentine treat bags to look extra festive.
🧾 Ingredients Needed
- Corn Chex – You can use other Corn Squares Cereal brands or opt for Rice Chex.
- Chunky Peanut Butter – Smooth peanut butter is also ok, but I like the chunks of peanuts in there!
- Butter – Salted or unsalted is fine.
- Powdered Sugar aka Confectioners Sugar
- Valentine Sprinkles and/or Red Melting Morsels

🥣 How to Make
Place peanut butter and butter in a large mixing bowl. the microwave for 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until mixture is smooth.
Add cereal to peanut butter mixture and gently mix and toss until completely covered. Add powdered sugar and toss again until cereal mixture is coated.
Add a handful of red melting morsels (if using) along with Valentine sprinkles. Just don’t overdo it! To mix more completely, you can place mixture in a bag and shake.

- 5 Cups Corn Chex Mix
- ½ cup Chunky Peanut Butter
- 4 Ounces of Butter
- 1 ½ Cups Powdered Sugar
- Red Melting Morsels (Optional)
- Valentine Sprinkles
Instructions
- Place peanut butter and butter in a large mixing bowl.
- Microwave for 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until mixture is smooth.
- Add cereal to peanut butter mixture and gently mix and toss until completely covered.
- Add powdered sugar and toss again until cereal mixture is coated.
- Add a handful of red melting morsels (if using) along with Valentine sprinkles.
Notes
Don't overdo the sprinkles! Add enough to be cute, but not so much you're eating mouthfuls of tiny hard sugar globs.
To mix more completely, you can place mixture in a bag and shake.
