What is your kid’s style? Some kids like to got bright and bold, maybe with a few patterns thrown in. Others go for a classic, stylish look. When I was a kid I was pretty much in the bright and trendy corner of the kids fashion spectrum. I still remember how much I LOVED the outfit I wore for my 5th grade school photo. A three piece white polyester pant suit complete with pink satin vest and lapels. I thought I was sooo cool!

Fast forward many years and Little R has a much different approach to kids style. He goes for the basics – solid colors and comfort. Of course he will go for a bright graphic T if it has something “cool” on it like a space-related theme or something I consider gruesome – like skeletons or zombies!

Since R’s school requires a uniform, much of his wardrobe can be mixed or matched with those pieces, which we recently stocked up on from OshKosh B’gosh. When he first started kindergarten, one of the tough adjustments was wearing a polo shirt. I already mentioned that he likes comfort and he did NOT find that collar comfortable. After several years he has gotten used to it and I actually love that polo shirt look!

At the age of 8 pants are one item of clothing that takes a beating. Sliding across the floor on knees, taking spills off the skateboard and rowdy games of tag on the playground can all lead to lots of torn up knees. That means pants tend to be replaced a lot more often than anything else! That also means it is the first thing to be changed out of after school – and always to something comfortable. These french terry pants from OshKosh are super comfy and still look good with a polo! They are perfect for mixing and matching.

All in all, we bought two polo shirts and three pairs of pants from OshKosh B’gosh for right around $50. Since they all coordinate with each other, which gives us 6 different outfits!

The one thing that I would buy is the OshKosh Heritage Fleece Hoodie. Cool weather will be here before you know it and this jacket would be perfect for my son. Plus, it comes in a dark charcoal color (also blue) to hide dirt better because let’s face it, boys attract dirt like bees to honey.
