This BBQ Chicken and Veggie Packets Recipe is easy to make on the grill with no clean-up. It’s perfect for camping too!

One of my very favorite things about summer is backyard entertaining! I love barbecues, pool parties, or any chance to get-together and spend time outside.
The focus point for these get-togethers is always the same – THE FOOD!
While eating the food makes a great focus point, I don’t like the food preparation to be too time consuming. That’s where easy grill recipes like this BBQ Chicken and Veggie Packets Recipe comes in!

This weekend my family came over for a barbecue. I have had a VERY busy week with lots of work to do and upcoming travel to plan for, so I didn’t have a lot of extra time to be preparing for our get-together.
So, I headed to Walmart to pick up ingredients for this easy BBQ Chicken and Veggie Packets Recipe made with Kraft BBQ Sauce.

After picking up my chicken and stopping in the condiments aisle to pick up the Kraft BBQ Sauce, I headed to the produce department for veggies.
I grabbed peppers, an onion and a bag of Marketside fresh green beans. Since I didn’t want to spend a lot of time preparing sides or appetizers for our meal,
I also stopped by the deli where I picked up some Marketside items.
I chose Marketside Italian Pinwheels, which made a delicious appetizer (they look pretty too!) and Marketside Italian Style Pasta Salad.
The salad was very fresh because all of the ingredients came separated and I mixed it all together at home. It was a perfect side.

To make our main course, I enlisted the help of Little R, who just loves to cook. Since there are only a few steps to this recipe, he did most of it himself. That’s how easy it is!
Note: If you’re concerned about cooking directly in foil, wrap the food on a piece of parchment paper before placing it in the foil.

BBQ Chicken and Veggie Packets Recipe
Ingredients:
4 thin-sliced chicken breast pieces (about 1 pound)
½ cup Kraft BBQ Sauce
½ red pepper, sliced
½ green pepper, sliced
½ small onion, sliced
16 green beans
Cooking spray

How to Make BBQ Chicken Packets with Veggies:
Heat grill to medium high.
Cut four large squares of heavy duty aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
Place a piece of chicken on each square. Top with 2 tablespoon BBQ sauce. Divide vegetables evenly between the four pieces.
Fold up edges of foil to make neat packets. Grill for 14 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
How to cook Chicken and Veggie packets on the Campfire:
This recipe is also perfect for camping! Just place the packets over a grate on your campfire. Let cook 10-15 minutes, checking periodically to make sure chicken is cooked all the way through but not yet burning.
NOTE: Rather than an aerosol can of cooking spray, I prefer to use my Misto Oil Mister. It’s a reusable oil spray and mister bottle gives you all the convenience of the aerosol sprayer in a more economical and environmental form.
Plus, I like that it doesn’t have any of those added chemicals that come in the can. You just pump the mister a few times before using to build up the air pressure and then go ahead and spray!
