Corn dogs are a fun just as they are, but they can be even more fun as kebabs, plus you get to add some veggies into the mix!
We had some yummy quick snacks this weekend thanks to Country Ribbon Corn Dogs. We all love to eat corn dogs just “as is” around here, but I was put to the challenge of thinking up a new way to enjoy them. We are right at the beginning of the season for lots of indoor parties at home for New Years, Super Bowl, just-too-cold-to-go-outside, etc. so it’s great timing for some delicious and easy fun foods.
To get started we headed to Sam’s Club to pick up some Country Ribbon Corn Dogs. We found out that they not only had the full-size corn dogs, but also had Country Ribbon Mini Corn Dogs. Since my idea called for the full-size, that is what we grabbed. I was impressed that the big box of 30 cost only $9.98. That made them only $.32 each – what a deal!! (Heads Up: Participating Sam’s Club locations will be having in-store demos 1/3 and 1/4. Be on the lookout for a tasty sample!)
When I got them home, I was also very happy to find out that each Country Ribbon Corn Dog is individually wrapped inside the box. That made it really easy to fit them all into the freezer at once rather than having to fit in the cardboard box. It also makes them easy to pack as a last minute lunch for hubby at work.
Before creating my recipe, I immediately cooked one of the Country Ribbon Corn Dogs just to see what they would turn out like and what I would be working with. They are SO good! Hubby actually said “This is the best corndog I have ever had.” SERIOUSLY!! That is a big compliment (he’s pretty picky).
Anyway…….for my recipe idea I decided to create a yummy way to add some vegetables into a quick snack.
Corn Dog Kabobs
Ingredients:
Country Ribbon Corn Dogs
1/2 yellow or orange bell pepper
1/2 green bell pepper
4 grape tomatoes
cooking spray
- Heat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. (I lined mine with aluminum foil first.) Set corn dogs on one side of tray.
- Cut the peppers into squares a little bigger than the diameter of the corn dogs.
- Place the peppers on the other side of the baking sheet and spray with cooking spray.
- Cook for 20 minutes, turning everything once half way through.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
- Slide corn dogs off stick and cut each into 5 pieces. Thread back onto sticks alternating peppers between each slice.
- Top the stick with a fresh grape tomato.

That’s a great idea! You could also put a little cheese cube or square in place of the pepper to make it all cheesy goodness. We love to get the corndogs at Sam’s Club. They’re the perfect lunch in the summer.
