It’s best made with a slightly tart apple like Fuji, Gala or Honeycrisp. You could also try a more tart apple like Granny Smith or other apples that might be a specialty in your region of the country.
Easy and Delicious Baked Apples from the Microwave
Ingredients:
1 apple
1 tsp raisins
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp butter, softened
sprinkle of cinnamon
How to Make Baked Apples in the Microwave:
To start, remove the core using an apple corer or paring knife. Peel away about 1/2″ of the top of the apple peel
In a small bowl, mix together the butter, sugar and raisins.
Pack filling into the center of the apple and then sprinkle the apple with cinnamon.
Place apple in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour 1/2 cup water gently into the bowl.
Cover bowl with a lid or plastic wrap, leaving a little space or steam to escape.
Microwave on high for 5 minutes or until apple is soft.
Place apple on a clean bowl or plate and spoon some of the cooking juices over the top.
Serve warm.

I like to eat these apples “as is”, but there are lots of toppings you can choose to add. Some of them include:
