If you love the taste of the traditional Stella D’Oro S Cookie (also called “Breakfast Treats”) you’ll also love this Stella D’Oro copycat recipe.
It’s a delicious Italian Knot cookie that’s perfect for dunking!
These yummy cookies are less sweet than your average sugar cookie and taste a lot like the classic S breakfast cookies by Stella D’oro.
I like to bake this Stella D’Oro copycat recipe in the form of knots, but you can easily shape them into the classic S shape instead.
These delicious cookies are perfect with a cup of coffee. If you prefer a sweeter cookie, these are also tasty with a buttercream icing on top!

I am not familiar with Stella D’oro but I know a good looking cookie when I see one and this is it! I love the know design of this adding a twist to a regular sugar cookie. I appreciate that is less sweet too. I’m all for a breakfast cookie…or a lunch coolie, cookies in general.

currently my favorite cookie to dunk in my coffee. I replaced the milk with sweetened condensed milk and it dissolved nicely in the coffee like stella d’oro. Or the closest to it!

The Stella Doro Original is my go-to for breakfast, and has been for 20 years! I grew up with them on the table in Philadelphia, so they hold such fond memories for me as well. With the supply shortages happening currently in our country, I can’t find them anywhere these days. I can’t wait to whip up a batch and try these. Thank you!

I want to try these cookies. I just wanted clarification about the above substitution of Sweetened Condensed Milk for the regular milk in the recipe ~ are they using Eaglebrand Sweetened Condensed Milk~OR~Carnation Evaporated Milk as a substitute?
