This sauce is easy to make because you start with canned tomatoes. But the key to a flavorful sauce is to use GOOD tomatoes. Not all canne tomato brand are created equal.
We recommend a high quality brand of crushed tomatoes. Products made with San Marzano tomatoes are the best, like the Cento tomatoes we used in our recipe.
This sauce tastes great on any type of pizza, whether it’s thin crust, deep dish, or pan pizza. For a delicious pizza completely from scratch, try our easy homemade pizza dough recipe.

Made this sauce for my pizza tonight. I didn’t have canned crushed tomatoes so I used canned diced tomatoes and proceeded as directed. After it had cooked for about 10 minutes I took my immersion blender and puréed the sauce. I ended up letting it cook down to thicken it up. At the end I added just a pinch of sugar to counter the acidity of the tomatoes. Looking forward to pizza tonight!

Well now that I have the recipe for sauce and pizza there’s no excuse. Time to make me some pizza! So glad that this is with canned tomatoes. Sure I’d love to use fresh, but I just don’t have them on hand all of the time. Thanks!

Great way to make homemade pizza sauce, and we always use the English muffins to make pizzas, we also use pita bread. Id make this and put some in mason jars for additional meals.
