Easy Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe

Easy Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe

OK pizza fans.  It’s time to get cooking!  My husband is a pizza fanatic.  He likes ALL kinds of pizza.  His motto is “even bad pizza is good” – meaning no matter how bad it is, he’ll still eat.  I, on the other hand, like GOOD pizza only!  There’s nothing like the perfect crust, a tasty sauce and the exact toppings I like.  And you can’t forget the cheese – yum!!

If you’re ready to make your own pizza, it’s really not too terribly difficult using this easy homemade pizza dough recipe.  Especially after you have made it a few times, it becomes routine.  Not only does homemade pizza taste great, but it’s much cheaper than takeout (or even frozen) and you can be content knowing exactly what ingredients are going into your food.  To complete your pizza, you can also use our Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe with Canned Tomatoes.

Place dough ball into a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap or clean cloth. Set in a warm place for 30 minutes or until dough has doubled.
Turn dough out on a floured surface and punch the dough to remove excess air, knead lightly.
Divide dough into 4.
Makes enough dough for 4 10-12″ thin pizzas.

Cooking the dough as a pizza will vary upon how thick you like your pizza crust. For a very thin pizza baked on a pizza stone, heat your oven to 450 and cook approximately 10 minutes.

For some reason I have always been afraid to make pizza dough. I guess because I’m afraid it will be hard as a rock or even worse, be “doughy” after baking. I have everything to make this so I am going to surprise, good or bad, my husband when he gets home with pizza!

  2. shelly peterson says:

I have never tried making my own pizza crust but it would be delicious to try. It looks easy enough. 🙂

  3. I will have to try this one. I have tried many times and it is ok but I want it really good. I haven’t tried this way before. Thanks for the recipe. Will pin it too so I have it.

I prick my dough with a fork and bake for about 5 minutes before adding sauce and toppings…prevents soggy middles

  6. I have made this recipe twice now, once for stromboli and once for hot wing pizza….both came out amazing!!
My new go to crust recipe. Thanks!!

  7. I made this dough once and loved it, it is easy to make and tastes so good. I love that it makes four, I usually put 3 in the freezer and use one right away. Then when I want to make a pizza I just take it out of the freezer, let it thaw out and then use it and it is great. Thanks.

  8. Thanks for sharing your recipe !
