Looking for a simple and festive treat to serve at your Independence Day celebration? This Flag Fruit Tray is the perfect patriotic snack!
Made with fresh fruit and fluffy marshmallows, it's a fun red, white, and blue treat that's quick to assemble and sure to be a hit at your 4th of July BBQ, picnic, or party.

I love that I can make this whole tray in just a few minutes and the finished result looks pretty darn impressive! Plus it’s nice to have a fruit option among all the burgers, hot dogs and potato salad at the BBQ!
Best yet, it’s a great option for both kids and adults alike, and no cooking is required!
To make your fruit tray the only equipment you’ll need is a medium sized cutting board (I use a 8.5″ by 11″ board) and a small square bowl to hold the blueberries in the corner. Oh, and you’ll need a knife to slice your strawberries!
🧾 Ingredients Needed

- 1 pound strawberries
- 1 pint blueberries
- 12 oz bag of large marshmallows
🔁 Variations
If you want to keep your tray to ALL fruit, you can substitute bananas for the marshmallows. To keep them from browning too quickly you can brush them with orange or lemon juice.
You can also opt for other red fruits in place of or in addition to the strawberries – like watermelon or raspberries.
One other sub for the marshmallows can be another white sweet treat like white candy coated mini pretzels, yogurt covered almonds or raisins, or even chunks of white cheddar if you want it to be a fruit and cheese tray.
🥣 How to Make
- Prep the strawberries: Wash the strawberries, remove the stems, and slice them in half lengthwise.

- Add the blueberries: Place the blueberries into a small, square-shaped bowl. This will form the "star" section of your flag.
- Place the bowl: Position the bowl of blueberries on the upper left-hand corner of your cutting board or tray.

- Create the stripes: Using alternating rows of sliced strawberries and marshmallows, create red and white stripes across the rest of the tray to mimic the American flag.

This patriotic snack board is not only eye-catching but also deliciously fresh! It's the perfect no-fuss dish to add a splash of color and fun to your 4th of July celebration.
