This Slow Cooker Pierogies and Sausage Recipe is perfect to toss together in the morning and come home to a hot, hearty dinner in the evening!
This Slow Cooker Pierogies and Sausage Recipe is one I love because it is so easy to throw it together in the Crockpot and you end up with a hot, hearty meal. The recipe is very forgiving so feel free to play around with it by adding extra veggies, changing up the sausage, or whatever fits your taste!
For easy clean-up, I recommend using a slow cooker liner for this dish. You can find them here. Once you are done cooking and serving, just pull the liner of the pot and throw away. You’ll be left with a totally clean slow cooker with nothing to wash!
Slow Cooker Pierogies and Sausage Recipe
Ingredients:
1 16oz package of Polish Sausage, sliced (I used the turkey version)
1 1/2 peppers, sliced (I used 1/2 each of red, green and yellow peppers)
1 small onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp butter
bay leaf (optional, but adds great flavor)
salt and pepper
1 16 oz package of frozen pierogies
How to make Slow Cooker Pierogi and Sausage:
Place all ingredients EXCEPT pierogies into Crockpot and cook on low approximately 6-7 hours.
45 minutes before you’re ready to eat, add the frozen pierogies and turn crockpot to high.
If you like some of your pierogies to be browned, spray the exposed parts of your crockpot with cooking spray or brush with butter and lean pierogies against the edges. Those pieces should brown nicely.

I saw this recipe this morning as I was trying to think what I could make along with my chicken sausages?
I’m cooking it right now in my slow cooker and it smells soooo good.

Looks delicious. I love perogies. Just one question. Is this suitable for reheating or would perogies get soggy.

I am just seeing this reciepe now and would like to make for dinner. I was thinking when I get home I would cook the sausage before putting it in the crock pot. Thinking this way I could have dinner before 10 pm tonight! I would cook the sausage than put it in the slow cooker with the pierogies for an hour then eat. Thoughts?
Chrysa says
I think that would work. I would probably cook the peppers and onion right along with the sausage at the same time just to make sure they are done too.

Can the perogies be put in at same time in Beginning?? I have fresh ones.
Chrysa says
I haven’t tried putting them in at the beginning. I am thinking they may get very soggy by doing that.
