Make a Toasty Ham Egg and Cheese Sandwich with Bays English Muffins! It’s perfect for breakfast, lunch or a quick dinner.
In our house, the go-to meal of choice is a sandwich – – and that means any time of day. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacktime, a sandwich is always a hit.
BUT, it’s not the same ol’ sandwiches all the time. We like to change up the fillings and, of course, what holds those fillings in place.
One of our favorite choices for a sandwich base is Bays English Muffins. And I’m being specific there because it can’t be any English muffin, it really has to be Bays.
My sister first introduced us to Bays years ago and I was amazed at how good they were.
I had no idea how much English muffins can vary from brand to brand and no one else comes close to the yumminess of Bays!
That’s why Bays has been our ONLY English muffin in our fridge since that day. I specify “in our fridge” since Bays is in the dairy case at your supermarket since they are carefully chilled for freshness. Once they come home they stay chilled so they are ready to be toasted and delicious any time of the day.
One of our very favorite sandwiches in general is a ham and cheese sandwich. For a tasty version of ham and cheese, I like to heat everything up and serve it on a Bays English Muffin. In fact, I make this sandwich for my husband almost every single day before he goes to work – (aren’t I a nice wife??).
I do have to admit that it’s super easy to make and I can have the whole thing ready in the time it takes the Bays English Muffin to toast. I hope you’ll love it as much as we do! Let’s get to the recipe….
Toasty Ham, Cheese and Egg Sandwich
Ingredients:
1 Bays English Muffin
1 Egg
1 Slice American Cheese
2 Ounces Shaved Deli Ham
Olive Oil Spray
Salt and Pepper
Directions:
Toast English muffin.
Heat small frying pan over medium heat. Spray with oil.
Crack egg into pan. Break yolk.
Place ham next to egg in pan.
Sprinkle egg with salt and pepper.
Once egg begins to firm up, flip to cook other side and place slice of cheese on top.
Flip ham.
Once egg is fully cooked, place on English muffin.
Top with ham and serve.
While we usually eat these sandwiches right away, you can also make a bunch of them at once and store in the freezer. When you want a quick breakfast you can microwave to defrost and heat, then pop it in the toaster oven to toast up a bit again. It’s delicious!
