If I have been a bit quiet the last couple of days, it’s because I have been trying to get caught up after a whirlwind trip to L.A. Thursday and Friday for the Miracles from Heaven Press Junket. Believe me, it was worth falling a bit behind on work!!
First of all I had a chance to screen the movie Miracles from Heaven, which will be in theaters at Easter (March 18, 2016). Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to share my review with you yet, but I will give you one hint: you will WANT to see this movie! What I CAN share is what the movie is about AND the trailer:
MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN is based on the incredible true story of the Beam family. When Christy (Jennifer Garner) discovers her 10-year-old daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers) has a rare, incurable disease, she becomes a ferocious advocate for her daughter’s healing as she searches for a solution. After Anna has a freak accident and falls three stories, a miracle unfolds in the wake of her dramatic rescue that leaves medical specialists mystified, her family restored and their community inspired.
Besides screening the movie, I had a chance to interview many of the cast and creators of Miracles from Heaven – exciting!! I interviewed the star of the film, Jennifer Garner, along with Martin Henderson, who plays her husband. I also interviewed Queen Latifah (Angela) and Kylie Rogers, who plays the little girl, Anna. (LOVED that interview – can’t wait to tell you more about it)! We also interviewed Christy Beam, who wrote the book Miracles from Heaven to share this story about her family, as well as screenwriter Randy Brown, who enabled the story to play out on the big screen. I thoroughly enjoyed the interview with Director Patricia Riggen and actor Eugenio Derbez, who plays Dr. Nurko. And last, but not least, we interviewed producers Joe Roth, T.D. Jakes, and DeVon Franklin.
As exciting as that all was, I was equally as excited to finally meet in person for the first time with Ashley, who you have seen writing here at ThriftyJinxy.com almost every day for nearly two years now. AND I got to spend time hanging out with my blogging buddy and fellow-Minnesotan the OTHER Ashley from QuirkyInspired.com, who shared this Instagram photo. My life is a bit confusing with THREE Ashley Ss in it!
I’ll be back next week to share some details about my interviews and, of course, a review of Miracles from Heaven!
