Well, I made it to LA today. I’m writing this at 11 pm, which is 2 am ET where I just came from or 1 am back home in Minnesota. Needless to say, I’m a wee bit tired.
I think that “wee bit” phrase just leaked out because tonight I saw BRAVE!!! I would go more into detail if I wasn’t dead tired, but I loved it!! It’s definitely not your average princess tale and it has a great mother/daughter story. It’s fun, funny, and action-packed. It’s also beautiful. I loved the Scottish scenery with mountains, valleys and green forests – just breathtaking. I will warn you that there are some scary parts and it may be a little intense for the little ones (particular the scary bear scenes) – it is a PG rating.
|We saw the movie at the actual Walt Disney Studios!|
I also have to mention that the Academy Award-nominated animated short shown before the main attraction, “La Luna” is also amazing. I found it to be beautiful and it just made me smile.
After the film we got another surprise of lots of fun BRAVE-themed toys. My very favorite is this adorable Hungry Cub plush that is going to be sleeping with me tonight.
The Formal Merida Costume for girls is beautiful and there is even a Merida curly wig – you just gotta love that red hair! There are also Merida dolls including a fashion doll and a toddler doll. We got the BRAVE video game for Wii, but it’s also available for Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo DS and PC. (NOTE: The deal I posted a last week to get a $20 credit and free ticket to BRAVE when you preorder the video game is still available, but I believe today 6/18 will be the last day.) There is also a beautiful “Art of Brave” book that I will be keeping for myself, along with a copy of the amazing film score by Patrick Doyle. Most of these items are already available through DisneyStore.com.
