I have already been excited about Mary Poppins Returns for months now, but as of tonight that excitement has spread to the rest of my house. A clip just came on TV while we were catching up on the latest episode of Dancing with the Stars and it’s the first time Mario is seeing it.
I hope he doesn’t see this because he’ll be embarrassed, but he squealed “Oh, oh, oh!” and clapped his hands as it started, then got even MORE enthusiastic when he saw Lin Manuel Miranda is in it. Things came to a climax when Dick Van Dyke appeared on the screen and he got tears in his eyes. If a big, burly guy can get that emotional over the trailer, you just KNOW it is going to be an extra magical movie!
This is the clip we saw, a special look at the music and magic from MARY POPPINS RETURNS. Take a look:
We can’t wait to see this in theaters December 19th. It looks like this new incarnation of Mary Poppins will have been worth the wait!
