Apple and Muenster Stuffed Chicken Breast Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breast
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ stick butter
  • 1 apple thinly sliced
  • 4-5 slices Muenster cheese

Instructions

  • Season the chicken breast with ½ of the spices.
  • Place each chicken breast in the air fryer basket and spray with oil. Cook at 400°f for 8 minutes.
  • While cooking, melt the butter in a pan over medium heat and add the apple cider vinegar and remaining spices.
  • Bring the sauce to a boil and stir until the sauce thickens. Set aside
  • Remove and let cool to touch. Using a sharp knife, slice a pocket into the side of the chicken breast.
  • Slice the Muenster cheese into small triangles and stuff the chicken with the slices of apples and cheese in layers.
  • Return stuffed chicken to the air fryer basket, brush with the sauce and then cook for 12 more minutes.
  • Remove, let cool and enjoy.

Notes

    • Choosing the Right Apples: You want an apple that’s sweet yet holds its shape well when cooked. Some of my favorites are Fuji Apples, Golden Delicious Apples, and Granny Smith Apples.
    • Avoiding Dry Chicken: Don't overcook the chicken. Use a Meat Thermometer. It should reach 165°F for safe yet succulent chicken.
    • Let it Rest: After cooking, allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes. This helps retain moisture, making every bite delicious.
    • Create a Deep Pocket: Use a sharp knife to make a deep pocket, but be careful not to cut through the other side. This helps hold all the filling without any leaks.
    • Don't Overstuff: Use about 1-2 slices of apple and cheese per chicken breast. A snug fit ensures the stuffing stays inside during cooking.
