Easy and Delicious Baked Apples from the Microwave

Baked apples are a classic fall treat! This shortcut method is a delicious and quick way to make them in the microwave.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 1 tsp raisins
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp butter softened
  • sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions

  • To start, remove the core using an apple corer or paring knife.  Peel away about 1/2" of the top of the apple peel
  • In a small bowl, mix together the butter, sugar and raisins.
  • Pack filling into the center of the apple and then sprinkle the apple with cinnamon.
  • Place apple in a microwave-safe bowl. Pour 1/2 cup water gently into the bowl.
  • Cover bowl with a lid or plastic wrap, leaving a little space or steam to escape.
  • Microwave on high for 5 minutes or until apple is soft.
  • Place apple on a clean bowl or plate and spoon some of the cooking juices over the top.
  • Serve warm.
