Refried Black Bean Tostadas
Turn canned black beans into delicious refried black beans to top crisp tostadas along with queso fresco.

- 2 cans of black beans 15.5 oz each
- ¾ cup water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion minced (approximately ½ cup)
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 teaspoons De La Viuda Original Hot Sauce
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 12 tostadas
- 8 ounces queso fresco grated/crumbled
- Tajín
Drain and rinse the black beans.
Add beans and water to blender or food processor.
Blend only until smooth.
Heat oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook 3-4 minutes or until soft.
Add in garlic, hot sauce, salt and cumin and cook 30 seconds.
Add in the black bean mixture and cook, stirring often, about 10 minutes or until thickened.
To serve, spread beans on a tostada.
Top with queso fresco and sprinkle with the Tajín and/or additional De La Viuda Original Hot Sauce.
