Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a small bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until the sugar is completely incorporated. Add the egg, bananas, and vanilla, beating until combined.
Add the flour mixture and mix just until blended. Stir in half of the chocolate chips.
Pour batter into a 12 inch cast iron skillet and spread evenly. Top with remaining chocolate chips.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool the banana bread on a wire rack before cutting into wedges and serving.
Notes
This recipe is best suited for a 12-inch cast iron skillet.
