Ingredients
2
medium yellow onions
or 1 very large onion
1
Tbsp
butter
1
Tbsp
olive oil
4
cloves
garlic
minced
2
beef bouillon cubes
1/2
tsp
oregano
2
tsp
tamari or soy sauce
2
tsp
Worcestershire sauce
1/4
cup
water
8
oz
light cream cheese
room temperature
8
oz
fat free Greek yogurt
salt and pepper
Instructions
Cut the onions in half and then slice very thinly. Dice up the slices (it’s ok if there are some larger pieces of onion).
Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat until butter is melted.
Add in onions and cook until starting to brown.
Add in garlic and cook for a minute.
Add in bouillon cubes, sauces, oregano, water and a bit of black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat to cool for a few minutes.
In a medium bowl, combine onion mixture, cream cheese and yogurt.
Add salt to season as necessary.
Chill for at least an hour before serving.
Notes
The dip tastes best when it is refrigerated for a few hours to allow the flavors to fully meld.
