Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Notes
To make this a more balanced meal, I would add in a chopped green or red pepper and 1/2 a chopped onion while browning the sausage to get some fresh veggies in the dish. Alternatively, you could serve with a green salad.
