Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Medium Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 1/2 Cups Nacho Cheese Doritos
  • 1 1/2 Cups Spicy Nacho Cheese Doritos
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 Quart Vegetable/Canola Oil

Instructions

  • Cut Cheese into 1/2 inch squares then slice each square diagonally to make triangles.
  • Put 1 1/2 cups of flour in a bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, beat eggs until well blended.
  • Add both flavors of Doritos, pepper and garlic powder to food processor and blend until it looks like course breadcrumbs. Place mixture in a separate bowl.
  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set it at the end of your assembly line.
  • Take your cheese and coat it in the flour (not heavily coated), then place in the egg. Make sure the egg sticks to the floured cheese.
  • Then place it in the Dorito blend, make sure it is coated well. (If you are having a hard time getting Dorito mix to stick then blend a little more).
  • Place coated cheese triangles on parchment covered cookie sheet. Place in freezer for 2-3 hours (until frozen).
  • Once frozen, heat 1 quart of oil to 350 degrees.
  • Place Dorito covered cheese triangles in the oil for 1-2 minutes or until they are lightly browned. (Do not overcook or cheese will melt out.)
  • Remove with slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to soak up excess grease.
  • Serve immediately!!
