Halloween is just a few weeks away and The Jim Henson Company has lots of things to make it a spooky fun holiday for the little ones! Get ready for the festivities to begin in October with:
First up are all new Halloween-themed episodes of Dinosaur Train and Sid the Science Kid. “Haunted Roundhouse/Big Pond Pumpkin Patch” from Dinosaur train premieres Thursday, 10/20, on PBS Kids (there will be a few more repeats later in the month in case you miss it – check local listings). Sid the Science Kid's “Spooky Science Special” premiered yesterday, but will be repeated again on 10/25, 10/28, 10/30, and 10/31.
To really get into the Dinosaur Train spirit for Halloween, your little ones can even dress up like favorite characters: Buddy and Tiny. California Costume Collections offers adorable versions of both Buddy and Tiny in costume sizes for Toddlers and Kids aged 4-6. The costumes are made of soft, comfortable fabric and created in vibrant colors and realistic design patterns.
But, if you are ready to take on a challenge, you can make your very own Buddy costume at home! There are both sew and no-sew options, all brought to you directly from Jim Henson's Creature Shop. Find instructions to make your own Dinosaur Train Buddy costume here. If your kid is more of a Sid fan,

There is also some reading fun from Dinosaur Train with the new book “The Spooky Scavenger Hunt” from Grosset & Dunlap. See what happens when Mr. Pteranodon takes Buddy and Tiny on a nighttime trip to the Big Pond for a spooky nature walk! Mr. Pteranodon and the conductor insist they can't be scared, but when the conductor's mom jumps out at them, everyone gets a good scare!
