Making Good Pet Food Choices #BestofBLUE

As we head into the holiday season we are busy planning our Thanksgiving menus and deciding what the family will be eating. How about thinking about what our pets are eating? Our Toby is a big part of our family, so I like to step back every so often to evaluate his food and make sure we are feeding him food that is good for him AND that he loves.

It can be tricky to know which products are right for your pets. To help make things easier, every weekend BLUE™ sends their Pet Detectives to local PetSmart stores to help you make the best decision for your family. I visited PetSmart to check out the extensive line of Blue Buffalo™ products for cats and dogs, but for this trip I had the dog, Toby in mind.

I was impressed by how big the Blue Buffalo line is with such a wide variety of types of products and formulas they have to choose from. Both the BLUE Life Protection Formula and the BLUE Wilderness Recipe products were appealing:

About BLUE Life Protections Formula:
BLUE Life Protection Formula always features real chicken, fish, or lamb. They use whole grains, garden veggies and fruits and LifeSource Bits®, a precise blend of nutrients that have now been enhanced with Super 7 package of antioxidant-rich ingredients. Importantly, BLUE Life Protection Formula contains no chicken (or poultry) by-product meals, no corn, wheat or soy and nothing artificial and is formulated for all breed sizes and life stages.

About BLUE Wilderness Recipe
Inspired by the diet of wolves for dogs and the wild lynx for cats, true omnivores whose endurance is legendary, BLUE Wilderness is a protein-rich, grain-free food that contains more of the delicious meat your pets love. This line of food is ideal for active pets and pet parents who want a high concentration of meat with no grains.

Toby was very happy that I came home not only with food for him, but with treats too! I bought him BLUE Health Bars baked with bacon, egg and cheese – some of his very favorite things!! He loves the taste of his new treat and I like that they are made with natural ingredients and fortified with Omega 3 and Antioxidants.
