With this Easy Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe you can easily make your own delicious pizzas at home. No more need for frozen or delivery!
OK pizza fans. It’s time to get cooking! My husband is a pizza fanatic. He likes ALL kinds of pizza. His motto is “even bad pizza is good” – meaning no matter how bad it is, he’ll still eat.
I, on the other hand, like GOOD pizza only! There’s nothing like the perfect crust, a tasty sauce and the exact toppings I like. And you can’t forget the cheese – yum!!
If you’re ready to make your own pizza, it’s really not too terribly difficult using this easy homemade pizza dough recipe. Especially after you have made it a few times, it becomes routine.
Below we show you three easy ways to mix up your dough: by hand, in a Vitamix or in a stand mixer.
Not only does homemade pizza taste great, but it’s much cheaper than takeout (or even frozen) and you can be content knowing exactly what ingredients are going into your food. To complete your pizza, you can also use our Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe with Canned Tomatoes.
Easy Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe
INGREDIENTS
15 oz (3 cups) Flour
1 tbsp Yeast
1 tbsp Sugar
2 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Olive Oil
9 fl oz Warm Water
How to Make Easy Homemade Pizza Dough:
You can choose to make your dough by hand, or to save some effort make it in a Vitamix or in a stand mixer. Choose which method below you’re using to start the process and then all 3 methods are finished up the same way.
BY HAND:
Place flour into a large mixing bowl and make a well in the center.
Add yeast, sugar, salt, olive oil and water and stir until combined.
Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-10 minutes or until a smooth ball forms.
IN VITAMIX:
Combine dry ingredients in the blender. Add oil and water through the lid plug opening. Select Variable 5 and Pulse to incorporate.
Scrape dough from sides of the container using a spatula and continue Pulsing until dough ball forms. Continue pulsing for 10 to 15 seconds to lift the dough off the blades.
IN KITCHENAID:
Place flour into a stand mixers bowl and make a well in the center.
Use dough hook.
Add yeast, sugar, salt, olive oil and water and turn on low combined (about 3 minutes).
Turn to medium and knead for 5-10 minutes or until a smooth ball forms.
BOTH:
Place dough ball into a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap or clean cloth. Set in a warm place for 30 minutes or until dough has doubled.
Turn dough out on a floured surface and punch the dough to remove excess air, knead lightly.
Divide dough into 4.
Makes enough dough for 4 10-12″ thin pizzas.
Cooking the dough as a pizza will vary upon how thick you like your pizza crust. For a very thin pizza baked on a pizza stone, heat your oven to 450 and cook approximately 10 minutes.

I made this dough once and loved it, it is easy to make and tastes so good. I love that it makes four, I usually put 3 in the freezer and use one right away. Then when I want to make a pizza I just take it out of the freezer, let it thaw out and then use it and it is great. Thanks.

For some reason I have always been afraid to make pizza dough. I guess because I’m afraid it will be hard as a rock or even worse, be “doughy” after baking. I have everything to make this so I am going to surprise, good or bad, my husband when he gets home with pizza!

Good luck!!
