Usually when I travel I pack just about last minute and maybe don’t pack as carefully as I should.
One thing I know that I am guilty of is grabbing all the jewelry – necklaces, bracelets, earrings, that I think I will be wearing on the trip and throwing it all in a bag or old snap jewelry case and tossing that in the suitcase.
The downside is that once I get to my destination and open it up, I have a tangled mess of necklaces that takes quite a while to unwind.
The solution: Those little plastic bags that hold the extra buttons that come with a garment when it is purchased. You can use them by separating out any necklaces that are easy to tangle and putting them each into their own separate bag.
Nothing gets tangled and it’s also great because it doesn’t take up any extra room in your suitcase.
I find it’s just one of those simple little tricks that makes life easier!

That’s a GREAT idea!

I save those little plastic bags for things, too! Here’s another idea that I just used on our last trip for packing jewelry. I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it before. I put small pairs of earrings and necklaces in a transparent pill box, one of those divided ones with 7 compartments for each day of the week. It kept them secure, nothing got tangled, and it was easy to just grab one pair of earrings out of it!
