This yummy Banana Bread Truffles Recipe has all the deliciousness of banana bread in one bite-size morsel with NO BAKING!
When it comes to homemade candy and treats, one of the most fun things to make is truffles! While often thought of as simply chocolate morsels with some type of filling there are SO MANY MORE options!
While I personally love chocolate I know some people who don’t (still a shocker every time I find out someone doesn’t like it), but that doesn’t mean that truffles are a no-go. One super delicious non-chocolate truffle idea are these scrumptious Banana Bread Truffles.
These yummy bite-sized treats offer the flavor of banana bread with no baking required. They are super pretty with their dash of yellow candy melts and the walnut on top. They add a pretty touch to a holiday cookie tray, tea tray or brunch spread.
Wilton Chocolate & Candy Melts Melting Pot
This Banana Bread Truffles recipe is fun to make. While the recipe is super easy, there are several steps involved in the process.
The last steps involve coating the truffles with candy melts. You can do this in a double boiler on the stove, but an extra easy method is to use a Wilton Chocolate & Candy Melts Melting Pot. It melts the candy or chocolate in 10 minutes and has a keep warm setting to keep it at the right temperature for dipping without letting it burn.
The best part is how easy it is to clean! It uses a silicone pot, so once you’re done, you chill the pot until the candy hardens and then squeeze the pot to break up the candy and it comes right out!
It’s time to get on to the recipe. I’m getting so hungry just writing about these Banana Bread Truffles again that I’m ready to head to the kitchen even though it’s currently 11:51pm. I think I’m going to have to resist the urge (for now) and instead be content with sharing the recipe with you!

Banana Bread Truffles Recipe
Ingredients:
85 Nilla wafers – crushed into 3 cups
2 ripe bananas
8 oz cream cheese – softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup walnuts – chopped and toasted
12 oz bag Wilton white candy melts
1/2 cup Wilton yellow candy melts
18 walnut halves, for garnish
How to Make Banana Bread Truffles:
1. Place the Nilla wafers in a food processor and finely crush. If you do not have a food processor, you can place them in a Ziploc bag and crush with a rolling pin. Set aside.
2. Heat a skillet or frying pan on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Place the chopped walnuts in the pan and “toast” for 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool.
3. In a large mixing bowl, mash both bananas with 2 forks. Add the crushed wafers, both sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg and toasted walnuts. Stir to combine.
4. Add the softened cream cheese and mix well to evenly incorporate all of the ingredients.
5. Cover the bowl and chill for 30 minutes for easier handling.
6. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Roll the chilled truffle dough into 1 inch balls and place on the lined cookie sheet. Chill for 15 minutes.
7. Place the white candy melts in a double boiler or Wilton candy melting pot. Heat until the candy is completely melted and smooth.
8. Dip each chilled banana truffle into the melted chocolate and place back on the lined cookie sheet. The chocolate will harden very quickly because the dough was chilled ahead of time.
9. In a microwave safe bowl, microwave the yellow candy melts in 20 second increments until completely melted and smooth.
10. Drizzle the melted yellow chocolate on top of each truffle and immediately place a walnut half on top before the yellow chocolate hardens.
11. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to seven days or freeze for up to 30 days. Recipe yields approximately 18 truffles.
