Woohoo got to try out the new Asus Zenpad S8 (Z580C)! The tablet looks great and feels substantial. Its thinner that the previous ASUS Memo tablets we have reviewed in the past. This weekend I had a chance to get some use out of it for my own ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 Review.
Some of you may know it’s a popular time of the year for fantasy football and I needed something small enough that its out of my way yet big enough to actually have some efficient uses. I needed to use the tablet as a resource for looking up details about certain players while my PC was focused on which player was just picked during my live draft. The operating system is Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and uses Intel® Atom™ Z3530 Quad-Core, 64bit with 2 GB’s of memory. It performed well and was a good asset.
The display has an Anti-finger coating, which reduces the finger print markings. I tested that feature out while watching Netflix. The visual quality of the display was very good for a moderately priced tablet. The speakers are front facing, just not as powerful as I would have liked although they are good enough when holding the tablet in your hand. Chrysa hates hearing my Anime so headphones it is.
One more feature I can’t forget to mention – – after creating your profile and importing apps from Google, the ZenPad asks if you would like them to put them all in groups based on categories and does it for you automatically in one neat little package. It made the whole installation and set-up process easy. I didn’t have to start over from scratch with my apps and it organized them well. I appreciate that!
