The Action Shot Camera lets both extreme sports lovers and pet owners capture video on the go and at any angle!
It's always fun to have video memories of the action-packed moments in your life, but those videos can be hard to get. You can't really hold a regular video camera or even an iPhone while you're doing fun things like biking, snowboarding, or engaged in active play. So, we were really excited to have a chance to review the Action Shot camera.
The latest trend in extreme sporting events on TV is to see the action from a camera mounted on the athletes helmet. Even reality shows have jumped on this trend with contestants also getting the exciting film footage from cameras strapped to their helmets. It makes for some awesome video! It also means you need to choose the best camera for action shots!
The Action Shot Camera is a portable mini-camera specifically designed to let you capture all the spills and thrills of action and adventure-sports from a first person point. It's great for sports like skating, surfing, skiing, snowboarding, BMX, motocross and much more. You can expand the memory in your The Action Shot Camera with a mini SD card and then upload the footage through the built-in USB port. SRP is $49.99 and it's intended for ages 7+. Also available is the HD Action Shot™ Camera! (SRP: $99.99, Ages 7+) You can find the Action Shot Camera on Amazon .
I really wanted to give it a try snowboarding, but we haven't broken out the gear yet for the season, so instead I got some action shots of another of my favorite things to do – rowdy play with our dog, Toby. I had wanted to film it from Toby's point of view, but dogs don't really have a forehead, which makes camera placement tricky! I vow that I WILL figure out how to do it though. Instead, I strapped it to my own forehead with the included mounting strap, which gave me two hands free for playing.
The Action Shot camera was really easy to use and I loved how simple it was to transfer to the video to my computer and then on to YouTube. Now my head is spinning with all the other ways we can use it, both action-packed and more everyday. I'm thinking it will be great for recipe/cooking videos from the first person point-of-view.
