Take charge of your heart health with free screenings at Sam’s Club this weekend. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women with approximately 600,000 people dying from the disease every year in the United States. That is one in every four deaths. However, heart disease is preventable and controllable.
In support of February’s American Heart Month, Sam’s Club will be hosting free heart health screenings on Saturday, February 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all locations with a pharmacy. Both members and non-members can attend the free screenings.
The screenings will include free in-Club health tests (which are valued at up to $100), including:
- Total cholesterol
- HDL cholesterol (the “good” cholesterol)
- Blood pressure
- Body mass index (BMI)
- Vision screening/testing
These health screenings can help people to prevent cardiovascular disease by alerting them to potential risk factors, such as cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar (glucose) levels.
